Colorado Springs' first Cambria Hotel & Suites is a four-story, roughly 100-room new-build planned for the Victory Ridge development near the Air Force Academy, first announced in 2021 and scaled back from 115 rooms amid rising costs. Choice Hotels' own live booking listing and an August 2026 corporate press release confirm the project is active, with an opening now plausible for late 2026 or 2027.

The place

The hotel sits in Victory Ridge, a 153-acre mixed-use development near InterQuest and Voyager parkways in north Colorado Springs, a fast-growing commercial corridor near the U.S. Air Force Academy's south entrance. The Academy, along with nearby corporate and military-adjacent traffic, is the property's core demand driver rather than downtown leisure tourism.

The concept

First announced in April 2021, this would be Colorado Springs' first Cambria Hotel & Suites: a four-story new-build with a first-floor restaurant, gym, meeting space and a rooftop bar and deck positioned to capture mountain views. By 2024, local reporting confirmed the project had been scaled back from 115 to roughly 100-103 rooms, with cuts to the meeting room, restaurant and rooftop bar footprint, as developer Shahford Hospitality contended with higher costs to borrow and build. An older market report circulating in some secondary sourcing listed Cambria among brands "not in the pipeline" for Colorado Springs, but that report predates this project's 2021 announcement and does not reflect the current pipeline. More direct and recent evidence — Choice Hotels' own live, bookable property listing and an August 2026 corporate press release naming Colorado Springs as an upcoming Cambria opening — confirms the project remains active, if very slow to materialize.

Dining & wellness

Plans as of the 2021 announcement called for a first-floor restaurant and a rooftop bar and deck as the hotel's signature amenity, but both were among the elements trimmed in the 2024 cost-driven scale-back. No operator, menu, or confirmed final scope for food and beverage has been reported.
