The place

A newly built tower at the junction of Park Lane and Liver Street, on a site that had stood as a surface car park since 1977, a short walk from Liverpool ONE and Lime Street station.

The concept

Maldron Hotel Liverpool was Dalata Hotel Group's first property in the city and its 55th hotel overall, built from the ground up by contractor McAleer & Rushe at a cost of £37.5m. Rather than converting an existing structure, Dalata developed a long-vacant car-park site, delivering a purpose-built four-star hotel engineered to a BREEAM Excellent sustainability rating — placing it, per the developer, in the top 10% of new non-domestic UK buildings for environmental performance. The positioning is dependable rather than experimental: comfortable, contemporary rooms and solid business-travel infrastructure rather than a design statement, consistent with the Maldron brand's four-star, no-surprises identity across its UK and Irish portfolio. It began taking guests from 2 July 2024.

Dining & wellness

The hotel has a bar and the brand's signature Grain & Grill restaurant, plus a dedicated events floor with three meeting rooms and an on-site gym.
