Hyatt Regency Tucson Convention Center
A decade-vacant downtown landmark becomes Tucson's first Hyatt Regency.
Announced · Late 2027
Hyatt, HSL Properties and Desert Hospitality Management are converting the long-vacant Hotel Arizona in downtown Tucson into the city's first Hyatt Regency, expected to open in late 2027. The 291-room hotel sits steps from the Tucson Convention Center and will offer roughly 22,000 square feet of meeting and event space.

The place
The hotel sits in downtown Tucson, adjacent to the Tucson Convention Center, Linda Ronstadt Music Hall, Leo Rich Theater and Tucson Arena, in the shell of the long-abandoned Hotel Arizona, empty since 2012.
The concept
Developed with HSL Properties and Desert Hospitality Management, and designed by Swaim Associates with interiors by Offay Design Studio, the project is a multimillion-dollar revival of a building that had sat derelict downtown for well over a decade. As Tucson's first Hyatt Regency, it's pitched at the convention crowd the adjacent Tucson Convention Center already draws, alongside business and leisure travelers.
