The concept
Four Seasons announced its South Carolina debut in 2025: a mixed-use development on a roughly two-acre former Days Inn site in the Historic District, developed by Strategic Property Partners, the firm affiliated with Bill Gates' Cascade Investment, which has been Four Seasons' majority owner since 2007. The Charleston Board of Architectural Review has approved the design, and the developer has been carrying out site and stormwater work while the existing building awaits demolition. A December 2025 update from the developer pushed the targeted completion from an initial 2028 estimate to 2029, tied to that demolition timeline slipping into early 2026.
Dining & wellness
Plans include four restaurants and bars, an outdoor pool with private cabanas, roughly 7,000 square feet of event space, a spa with private treatment rooms and hydrothermal facilities, a fitness center, curated retail, and a rooftop conservatory and terrace on the eighth floor.
