Our take The scale here is unusual for a Tapestry Collection property: 452 rooms across a dual Hilton flag structure is closer to a full resort redevelopment than a typical boutique-collection hotel, with the 1948 mill-worker-retreat history giving it a more specific backstory than most beach resorts.

We liked this hotel. We got a suite and it was spacious and well kept. It had a full size refrigerator we took full advantage of. The pool and garden areas are well maintained and manicured. I can’t say the same for the common areas like hallways and the hotel building entrance (The lobby is on a separate building). They were very dirty. Not a lot of entertainment other than beach and pool. The staff were friendly and very helpful. We had an issue with the tv and maintenance arrived within 7 min, which was amazing. We also brought a pet and had no issues. We have an electric car, so it was amazing they had multiple charging stations. All and all it was a nice experience that could’ve been great. Also, there are no hidden fees, people just don’t know how to read.
What an amazing property and staff. We had an amazing stay from the start of our trip right until the minute we checked out. The resort was very clean, the pools were perfect, the staff were so kind and attentive, the food/drinks were great and super convenient, the beds were comfortable and the A/C was cold! Could not have asked for anything better! Thank you for the wonderful hospitality!
We stayed there this past weekend and it is not the 4 star hotel that is advertised. The rooms are decent and clean. They do in fact look like the pictures online however, the hotel grounds are a different story. They are poorly maintained and many upgrades need to be made to make the property appear as the 4 star hotel they advertise. Housekeeping does not come by to clean your room or bring more towels unless you call and request. The housekeeper then came and acted as if she did not want to clean our room or provide towels and then she abruptly left and slammed the door. I also requested a pack and play for my baby which was provided, but without a mattress or a sheet for the bed. The check in area is very hard to find as it is on the second level of the registration area. The parking garage is nasty looking. The hotel is in a great location as you do have direct beach access and the pool area was decent. I don’t think the hotel should be advertised as a resort and I definitely would not stay here again.
Negative... At just under $600 a night over Memorial weekend I would expect to be able to get a cup of coffee at 6:30am but that was not the case. It took 8-9 hours to charge our phones in the room which is hours longer than anywhere else including the car. The put put course was in very rough shape and in dire need of some cleanup and repairs but we still had fun.
Positive... The employees are friendly and helpful. The rooms are large and very clean. The food at the restaurants in the hotel was pretty good to very good depending on which place you ate at. The views of the ocean from our fifth floor room, the balcony, and even our door was beautiful. Pools, pools, and more pools! They were cleaned every morning and the water was great but we only used the adult pool. The pier was nice for walking in the morning to see the sunrise and to watch people catching fish. The beach in front of the hotel was clean and surprisingly not overcrowded for a holiday weekend. Located close enough to the hot spots but far enough away from North Myrtle Beach to avoid the insanity. As far as my complaint about the coffee, compared to what other hotels try to pass off as coffee, it was well worth the wait I suppose. lol
The good far outweighed any minor issues or complaints we might have. We would certainly stay there again!
This place is very deceiving from pictures. All rooms are located on the outside with no entrance from inside. Exterior Elevators become very congested. With two young kids, we unloaded everything into our first room, but the smell of marijuana was so bad we had to move. The second room we Got was on the other side of the resort at the Doubletree. We ended up not being able to get into the room till that evening. The room was a little bit better, but after taking my son on the patio to watch the waves, we thought it was just foggy out But again the Smoke from marijuana coming from the patio next to us was unbearable. It filled up our entire room as soon as the door opened. We almost had to leave in the middle of the night to get my kids out of it. We were able to make it to the morning and checked out. Never even made it 24 hours even with switching rooms. They give you wristbands for the pools, but most of the gates don’t work and remain open with people from the BEACH flooding in To the water area.
