El Noa Noa

A seven-suite Warm Sands compound, reportedly the former home of Mexican singer-songwriter Juan Gabriel, relaunched in early 2025 by first-time hotel owners Sony Sunny and Unni Vimal as an adults-only couples' retreat. The name borrows Gabriel's own song about the nightclub where he started his career.

The place

El Noa Noa sits in Warm Sands, the low-rise enclave south of downtown Palm Springs known for its walled bungalow compounds. The neighborhood is quieter and more discreet than the Uptown or downtown cores, built around a handful of small guesthouses rather than storefronts, oriented toward couples staying in rather than exploring on foot.

The concept

The seven-suite compound was, according to the hotel and consistent with real-estate records showing the address was purchased in 2015 by Mexican singer-songwriter Juan Gabriel, reportedly his former home; the hotel takes its name from his song about the Mexico City nightclub where he got his start. Sony Sunny and his wife, Unni Vimal, bought the property in 2024, their first hotel venture after backgrounds in hospitality including resorts in India and a property in Big Bear, California, and relaunched it in early 2025 as an adults-only, couples-focused retreat. The compound keeps its original resort-style layout, suites arranged around a central pool and spa, with private balconies, soaking tubs and, in the Honeymoon Suite, a private outdoor waterfall spa.

Dining & wellness

There is no full restaurant; the property describes its dining as intimate, on-site experiences rather than a standing kitchen. The pool and hot tub anchor the compound, and Pura Vida, the on-site wellness space, offers massage and other spa treatments, with the Honeymoon Suite's private outdoor waterfall spa as the signature amenity.
