The concept

A genuine new-build rather than a rebrand, confirmed by operator RBH as "newly built," this Courtyard was first announced with a roughly £20m budget and broke ground in 2022 — then sat half-finished for about eighteen months after construction stopped in summer 2023, before resuming in January 2025 and finally opening that December. The 150-room property targets the business travelers and conference delegates using the adjoining Advanced Manufacturing Park, alongside leisure guests visiting the Sheffield city-region and the nearby Peak District.

Dining & wellness

Aspen Restaurant & Bar, named after the original meaning of "Waverley" — a meadow of quivering aspens, a nod to the surrounding development — serves an all-day, locally sourced menu of Yorkshire classics and seasonal dishes, with an outdoor terrace and an on-site gym rounding out the amenities.
