Blue Flamingo Resort Key West

BRE Hotels & Resorts combined two of Key West's retro motor lodges into Blue Flamingo Resort Key West, a redesigned 245-room resort in the New Town district that opened in July 2025. Virserius Studio led the redesign, built around two pools, tiki bars and an eclectic island aesthetic.

3820 N Roosevelt Blvd, in Key West's New Town district, away from the density of Old Town's guesthouse district.

The concept

BRE Hotels & Resorts combined two existing retro motor-lodge properties on the same New Town site into a single, redesigned resort under a new name and concept, rather than operating them as two separate brands. Virserius Studio led the redesign around an eclectic, story-driven island aesthetic — sand-dune tones, statement lighting, and a retrofitted vintage Airstream repurposed as a karaoke cabana.

Dining & wellness

Rum Row and Toasted Coconut, two tiki-style bars and poolside dining spots serving poke bowls, coconut shrimp and fish sandwiches, plus a lobby bar. Two connected pools branded The Backyard Pool & Social Club anchor the grounds, with cabanas, fire pits and lawn games including cornhole, bocce and a mini putting green.
