The Toronto Power Hotel will transform the historic Toronto Power Generating Station, a Beaux-Arts landmark decommissioned in 1974, into Niagara Falls' first five-star boutique hotel. The $200-million redevelopment by Pearle Hospitality and Society Developments pairs guest rooms with a museum, art gallery and theatre, targeting a 2028 opening.

The place

Inside the Toronto Power Generating Station on the Niagara Parkway, steps from the brink of the Falls, on a National Historic Site decommissioned since 1974.

The concept

A $200-million adaptive reuse by Society Developments and Pearle Hospitality turns the Beaux-Arts power station — dormant for 50 years — into Niagara Falls' first five-star boutique hotel, combining guest rooms with a museum, art gallery and theatre open to the public.

Dining & wellness

Plans include multiple restaurants, a craft brewery, a spa and wellness centre, and indoor and outdoor viewing platforms over the Falls; specific operators have not been announced.
