Scandvik Hotels & Nordic Spa, a planned 120-room Scandinavian-style wellness hotel at Saskatoon's Willows golf community, cleared its final municipal zoning approval in September 2025 after a four-year path through city council. No hotel brand affiliation or construction start date has been confirmed.

The place
The hotel is planned for a four-acre site just outside the Willows residential community, south of Cartwright Street on the western edge of The Willows golf course — a private golf community on the South Saskatchewan River at the edge of Saskatoon. The course was reduced from 27 to 18 holes, following a 2023 council approval, to free up the land.
The concept
First pitched in January 2021 and rejected by city council that November, the project returned in 2023 with a revised concept plan and cleared its final zoning hurdle on September 25, 2025, when council unanimously approved the boundary and concept-plan amendments needed for construction. Scandvik Hotels, a Saskatchewan-based operator, describes a 120-room Scandinavian-style property built around an adult-only Nordic spa — outdoor thermal and cold-plunge pools, saunas, steam rooms and treatment rooms — rather than a conventional hotel spa wing. No major hotel brand flag has been confirmed for the property; Scandvik has said only that an affiliation will be announced 'soon.'
Dining & wellness
Early plans describe a roughly 100-seat restaurant and lounge with a three-season patio, alongside the Nordic spa's saunas, steam rooms, massage and treatment rooms, fitness classes and outdoor relaxation areas. None of these venues has opened yet, and no operator, chef or spa-brand names have been announced.
