Residence Inn by Marriott Vail

Residence Inn by Marriott Vail opened on September 28, 2023 at 1783 N. Frontage Road West, in West Vail. The four-story building has 146 suites, as studios and one- and two-bedroom units, each with a balcony and mountain views. Vail Hospitality Group owns it and Sunridge Hotel Group manages it. The Roost Lodge previously stood on the site.

The place

The hotel is about five minutes from downtown Vail and Lionshead Village. Gore Creek, the Gerald R. Ford Amphitheater and the White River National Forest are within easy reach, as is Vail Ski Resort.

The concept

Every suite has a fully equipped kitchen with full-size appliances, a microwave and a coffeemaker, a large work desk with an ergonomic chair, a flat-screen television with streaming and free high-speed internet. The Residence Inn brand is aimed at long stays, which explains the setup.

Pets are accepted. There is a fitness center, 850 square feet of meeting space, grocery delivery and dry cleaning.

Outside, an oversized hot tub sits on a heated deck, and a patio has a fire pit and barbecue grills. A viewing deck looks out over the mountains.

Dining & wellness

The lobby bar serves wine, beer, cocktails and light fare. A market open around the clock sells food to eat in or take up to the suite. There is no restaurant; the kitchen in each suite takes the place of room service.
