The concept
Developer KT Urban's 19-story Moxy-branded hotel was approved by San Jose City Council on January 14, 2020. A preservation group's legal challenges to the approval were rejected by the courts in 2022, and a further appeal was refused the same year, clearing the project's remaining legal hurdles. As of a February 2025 city hearing, no construction start or opening date had been publicly confirmed.
