AC Hotel by Marriott San Jose Downtown

AC Hotel by Marriott San Jose Downtown opened in early 2017 as the first new hotel in downtown San Jose since 2004, developed by Rockbridge Capital at 350 West Santa Clara Street. The 210-room property, California's first lifestyle AC Hotel, sits roughly two blocks from the site Google has assembled for its planned Downtown West transit village.

The concept

Developed by Ohio-based Rockbridge Capital, which bought the site in 2014 for $3.5 million and financed construction with a $29.4 million loan, the seven-story AC Hotel San Jose Downtown opened in early 2017 as the first new hotel to open in downtown San Jose since 2004 and the first lifestyle AC Hotel by Marriott in California. The property was later sold to an AVR Realty affiliate for $95.4 million.

Dining & wellness

The hotel includes a saltwater pool, an on-site fitness center and three meeting spaces, with a ground-floor bar/lounge typical of the AC Hotels brand's European-inspired format.
