In May 2019, Hyatt planted its Hyatt Place flag in Alaska for the first time, opening a 150-room, new-build hotel at Tudor Road and C Street in midtown Anchorage. It's a select-service play built for connectivity — near the airport, on the way to the national parks — rather than a downtown showpiece.

The place
The hotel sits at the corner of Tudor Road and C Street in midtown Anchorage, a commercial corridor about 2.5 miles from Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport and four miles from downtown — a practical base for travelers connecting toward Denali and the rest of Alaska's national parks rather than a downtown leisure address.
The concept
Built new for Midtown Hotel Investors LLC and operated by In-Group Hospitality, this is the first Hyatt Place property in Alaska, opened May 15, 2019 with 150 rooms. The building follows Hyatt Place's standard select-service format — rooms zoned into separate sleeping, working and lounging areas with a signature Cozy Corner sofa-sleeper — aimed at business travelers and road-trippers who want reliable, brand-consistent comfort over a resort experience.
Dining & wellness
The Gallery Kitchen serves a hot breakfast daily, and the 24/7 Gallery Menu & Market offers prepared meals and snacks around the clock; a Coffee to Cocktails bar covers both ends of the day. The property also has an indoor pool, a 24-hour fitness center and roughly 1,300 sq ft of meeting space, but no full-service restaurant or spa.
