Hyatt House Destin opened in June 2026 at Regatta Bay, next to the Destin Commons shopping centre, as the brand's first property on Florida's Emerald Coast. Developed and owned by Doradus Partners, the 146-key new build devotes 97 of its rooms to apartment-style suites with full kitchens, a direct answer to a beach town where holiday accommodation usually means a rented condominium. It is the first purpose-built hotel to open within Destin's city limits in several years.

The place

The hotel stands at Regatta Bay, on the inland side of Destin between US Highway 98 and Choctawhatchee Bay, directly next to Destin Commons — the open-air shopping and entertainment centre that gathers more than 85 shops and restaurants — and a short distance from the Regatta Bay Golf & Yacht Club. That places it in the commercial spine of the town rather than on the Gulf front: the quartz-sand beaches and the harbour are a drive away, not a walk. The trade-off is deliberate. Destin's beachfront is almost entirely given over to condominium towers and holiday rentals, and the few sites large enough for a purpose-built hotel sit behind them, along the highway corridor.

The concept

Hyatt House Destin is a ground-up build rather than a conversion, developed and owned by Doradus Partners, with Cleveland Construction as general contractor, and it opened in June 2026 as the brand's first address in the Destin area. The format is extended stay taken seriously: 97 of the 146 keys are apartment-style suites with a full kitchen, a separate living room and a bedroom, which is an unusual proportion even within the Hyatt House portfolio and reflects a market where the default holiday accommodation is a rented condominium rather than a hotel room. The rest of the programme follows the brand template without much embellishment — complimentary breakfast, free Wi-Fi, a fitness centre, an outdoor sun deck, and a pet policy that accepts animals rather than merely tolerating them. What sets this property slightly apart from a pure leisure build is its meeting provision: more than 1,400 square feet of flexible gathering rooms with audiovisual equipment and a food and beverage menu, aimed at the small-group and corporate demand that the surrounding office and retail corridor generates year-round, outside the summer beach season.

Dining & wellness

There is no chef-led restaurant. Food and drink follow the Hyatt House model: a complimentary breakfast included in every stay, a food and beverage menu attached to the gathering rooms, and the fully equipped kitchens in the majority of the suites, which are the point of the format rather than an afterthought. No spa is part of the property; wellness is limited to the fitness centre and the outdoor sun deck.
