The place
Corner of Government and Yates streets in Victoria's historic Old Town, home to Canada's oldest Chinatown, incorporating the heritage Duck's Building (1892) alongside a new-build tower on the former Canada Hotel site.
The concept
Developed by Knightstone Hotel Group with Chard Development, the eight-storey hotel restores the 1892 Duck's Building and replaces the former Canada Hotel, marking the first new hotel construction in Victoria in nearly two decades and the Hyatt brand's first foothold in the city.
Dining & wellness
A restaurant, bar, lounge and coffee shop are planned; operators have not been announced.
