The concept IHG's 175th Hotel Indigo globally, and a bet that Gatlinburg — a town built on motels and outlet-mall tourism — can support a design-led stay. SK Ballard Contract Interiors mixes 1920s-30s Art Deco with Appalachian references: black, gold and jewel tones, mountain motifs, and work from East Tennessee artists.
Dining & wellness Altitude Restaurant and Rooftop Bar serves new American food and regional cocktails on what the hotel bills as the largest rooftop in downtown Gatlinburg, alongside a heated infinity pool with a swim-up bar and a ground-floor Starbucks.
Our take Gatlinburg's hotel stock skews toward chain motels and cabin resorts, so a design-forward Indigo with an actual rooftop scene fills a genuine gap rather than adding one more me-too opening. The Art Deco framing is a stretch for an Appalachian mountain town, but it gives the hotel a visual identity the market currently lacks.

This hotel is beautiful. It's refreshing to stay on the strip and have such a clean hotel with friendly staff. The biggest downfall is parking. Its difficult and not the most ideal. On our first night there were servers of us who couldn't find parking spots but hotel manager, Sarah quickly gave us her spot. I wish breakfast offered pancakes and omelets and a wider range of food selections. There is also a $20 DAILY resort fee that was not on Expedia when we booked and quite discouraging. Rooms were spacious and very clean but there is a gap at the bottom of the door. we stayed across from housekeeping and it was loud. There were also a couple night of them vacuuming at 11pm that kept me up. Staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. Sarah was fantastic! Easy and quick walking access to the strip was a plus. The fitness center was set to 76° and it was a little miserable to run in the mornings. More private rooms and better parking would have made this a 5 star review. I hope this hotel stays clean and renovated at all times. We will come back in the future as long as it hasn't been run down like others on the strip.
First Time there, had a great experience! Sarah at the front desk was very helpful and very welcoming. Rooms and hotel itself very clean, and just smelled amazing. Emily at the roof top bar was the icing on the cake! She made our experience on the Roof Top bar a blast!!! We will definitely be back.
I had a great two-night stay at this hotel with my family! The rooms were spacious and comfortable, with the windows providing wonderful views of Gatlinburg in addition to the mountains. The rooftop experience was like a dream - delicious food and breathtaking mountain views! One thing to note about this hotel is that your room key is needed in order to access higher floors on the elevator, so do not lose it.
Locals here, Highly recommend the stay and visit! I really enjoyed the girls upstairs working At their rooftop bar “Altitude” - Emily, Ashley, Gwen! They are all so awesome! Great environment, fun- professional! Really appreciated the menu variety for drinks and food! Best hotel to be in Gatlinburg. We will be back! Our group had such a great time on the rooftop- This will be our spot moving forward.

What a beautiful and upscale hotel in the heart of the Smokey Mountains. The double Queen room was luxurious and clean. The beds so comfortable. The bathroom and shower are super upscale! The view from our room spectacular. The rooftop bar and sitting area is incredible! The view, especially at night is breathtaking. The bar service a bit slow. Ate breakfast at the restaurant and had to send my over poached eggs back. Food did not come out as described on the menu. Wheat bread substituted for English muffin and missing ingredient in my son’s burrito. The lobby employees very friendly and helpful. We walked to the strip. Good parking. The Star bucks in the lobby a plus. We will stay there again.
