Hotel Indigo Gatlinburg Downtown

Hotel Indigo Gatlinburg Downtown opened in September 2025 at 229 East Parkway, close to the entrance of Great Smoky Mountains National Park. It is the 175th Hotel Indigo in the world, owned by Viral 24 LLC, with 136 rooms and suites, a rooftop restaurant and bar, and a heated infinity pool.

The place

East Parkway is the main road through downtown Gatlinburg, and the hotel is within walking distance of the national park entrance. Anakeesta Outdoor Adventure Park and Ober Mountain Adventure Park, which has a ski area, are the attractions the opening release names nearby. McGhee Tyson Airport in Knoxville is about 40 miles away.

The concept

The brief to the designers was to place the Art Deco of the 1920s and 1930s next to the Smoky Mountains, since that is the period when the style flourished and the national park was established. SK Ballard Contract Interiors led the interiors and the art selection.

The lobby uses black, gold and jewel tones with velvet furnishings, a central fireplace and floor-to-ceiling windows around the seating areas. Walls carry work by East Tennessee artists and archival black-and-white photographs of Gatlinburg.

Of the 136 rooms, standard kings and double queens form the bulk, and 20 premium rooms have private balconies. Four one-bedroom signature suites are named The Mountain Majesty, The Indi, The Rosewood and The Appalachian. Select rooms add rust-colored velvet chaise lounges. In-room equipment includes a 55-inch television, mini fridge, coffee maker, safe and ZENOLOGY bath products.

Owner Victor Patel called the hotel a love letter to the destination, and said he wants guests to feel both at home and inspired.

Dining & wellness

Altitude Restaurant and Rooftop Bar is an indoor-outdoor venue serving new American food, craft cocktails and local beer, daily from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. The hotel describes the rooftop as the largest and tallest in the market, with panoramic views of the Smokies. A Starbucks on the first floor opens daily from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.

The heated infinity-edge pool has a swim-up bar, and cabanas can be rented for 85 dollars a day subject to availability. The fitness center, open 6 a.m. to 11 p.m., has Peloton bikes, ellipticals, treadmills and free weights.

There are 9,300 square feet of indoor and outdoor event space. Dogs up to 100 pounds are accepted in select rooms for a 75 dollar fee per stay, with up to two dogs per room. Self-parking costs 15 dollars a day, and the hotel has EV charging stations.
