Hotel Alpenrock Breckenridge opened on 21 November 2025 at the base of Peak 9, in the shell of the former DoubleTree, after a two-year, roughly $67 million rebuild. Its 205 rooms and suites make it Curio Collection by Hilton's first hotel at a major ski resort, managed by Sage Hospitality Group, with four food and drink venues and a ski valet on the slopes.

The place
550 Village Road, at the base of Peak 9, a five-minute walk from the QuickSilver Super6 and Beaver Run SuperChair lifts and within walking distance of Main Street, whose gold-rush core is the largest historic district in Colorado.
The concept
The building is not new: it opened in the 1980s and spent decades as the DoubleTree by Hilton Breckenridge, sold by Vail Resorts to Newport Beach investor MIG Real Estate before being gutted and rebuilt over roughly two years at a cost of about $67 million. It reopened on 21 November 2025 under Hilton's Curio Collection soft brand, managed by Sage Hospitality Group, and is presented by both companies as Curio's first property at a major ski resort and as the first genuinely upscale hotel in a town whose lodging stock is dominated by condominiums and timeshare. The name splices Alpen, for the high peaks that drew the first Alpine skiers, and Rock, for the Rockies at the door, and the interiors lean on Breckenridge's mining past rather than on generic mountain-lodge codes. ENR Mountain States named it Best Renovation/Restoration Project of 2025, which is a fair summary of what this is: a very thorough conversion rather than a new address.
Dining & wellness
Edwin is the signature restaurant, built around an open-fire oven and named after Edwin Carter, the Breckenridge prospector who turned naturalist; The Carter is the lobby and apres-ski bar; Canary is a speakeasy-style cocktail room; and a cafe and bistro handles coffee and lighter service. There is no spa, but the hotel has outdoor hot tubs, a fitness centre, slopeside ski and gear valet with heated storage, and an on-site rental shop.
