Gravity Haus Breckenridge
The founding address of the adventure club-and-hotel brand now running in Vail, Winter Park and Jackson Hole, opened in a rebuilt 1980s slopeside lodge
Open · December 2019
Gravity Haus Breckenridge opened in December 2019 in the former Village Hotel at Breckenridge, a 1980s ski-in, ski-out property at the base of Peak 9 bought and rebuilt by Jim and Alicia Deters. Its 60 rooms were the first address of a brand that now runs in Vail, Winter Park, Steamboat Springs and Teton Village, built around an outdoor-focused members' club with coworking and recovery facilities.

The concept
Jim and Alicia Deters bought the Village Hotel at Breckenridge, a 1980s slopeside property, in the spring of 2019, renovated it completely and reopened it that December as the first Gravity Haus. The brand has since spread to Vail, Winter Park, Steamboat Springs and Teton Village, where it took over the Continuum lodge in 2023, and the model has been consistent from this first address: 60 rooms wrapped around a members' club aimed at skiers, climbers and mountain bikers, with coworking desks, gear storage and recovery facilities treated as core infrastructure rather than extras. The identity is genuinely new rather than a refresh; nothing of the Village Hotel name survived the changeover.
Dining & wellness
The club model puts coworking space, fitness and recovery at the centre of the ground floor. The current food and beverage line-up is not documented in the sources consulted for this entry, so we would rather say nothing than guess at it.
