The concept
A ground-up, seven-story new build forming part of a $20 million mixed-use development, reported at the time as the first new hotel construction of note on the New York side of the falls in some time. It broke ground in the fourth quarter of 2021 and opened in spring 2024, with a ribbon-cutting on April 15, 2024 attended by New York Governor Kathy Hochul.

Amala Restaurant & Bar serves made-to-order breakfast (weekdays 6:30-10:30 a.m., weekends 7:00-10:30 a.m.), local craft beer, wine and specialty cocktails, plus to-go options. The hotel also has a fitness center, meeting and event space, a grab-and-go Sundry Shop, and bike parking.
