My husband and I celebrated our anniversary in Park City, and stayed here. The room was clean, smelled fresh, and wasn’t worn down. Customer service was always good. Everyone was so nice. And a specific big shout out to Franny G. and Carla G. who helped us get checked in. They were clear with information and didn’t rush us through the check in process. They were amazing! They even gave us a little gift for our anniversary.
I will start with the good - the hotel is in a great location. It is close to shops, restaurants, supermarkets, etc. The overall facility is fine especially since it is an AC and the point is a minimalist approach to lodging. This one has no suites, which is odd for a place like Park City.
Now for the bad - I was assigned a room with a dirty bathroom including the toilet and long hair in the sink - I do not have long hair. (photos included). The floor in the room had debris on it, which I did not really notice until the next morning, when the sun was shining into the room. I raised the concerns about the bathroom with the front desk agent, who had someone go up with a spray bottle to "clean". I told her I wanted to speak to a manager about the situation.
The next day, when I returned to the hotel, I raised the issue with the manager (who happened to be there the night before but was unknown to me as the manager and the agent did not direct me to her the night before). She provided two options 1) change rooms 2) have housekeeping come to clean the room (housekeeping is only done every other day). I opted to have housekeeping clean the room. I asked what type of compensation she planned to use as service recovery for what I consider a violation of a fundamental principle of lodging, which is cleanliness. She offered a meager 1K Bonvoy points (award stay for that night was 55K). I advised I was not happy with what she offered. She eventually went to 5K, which I believe was inadequate given how big an issue this was. Her explanation was - the issue was resolved so nothing more was warranted. I think the overall attitude demonstrated was cavalier considering the size of the issue. I checked out of the hotel on March 19. As of March 26, I still have not seen bonus points posted to my account. I will raise the issue with the corporate office.
We stayed here for my son’s birthday since it is close to the skatepark he wanted to go to, and the staff here was impressive. Every single person we interacted with was kind and helpful, but most especially, Deja. She was great to my kids and brightened our experience. Proof that wherever you go, it’s really the people that make all the difference.
This was my second time staying at AC Park City. The location is great - just a few minutes to the ski hill and lots near by for food and drink. The hot tub is great after a day of skiing. The absolute BEST thing about the AC Park City is their employee, Deja. She was our shuttle driver to the mountain one morning and greeted us on time with a smile and good conversation. As we passed a local greenhouse on our way, she mentioned they had a coffee shop and delicious homemade potato chips. I commented on how my favorite food is potato chips and that I hoped to stop in and pick some up. When we got back to our room after our ski day, a fresh bag of potato chips was waiting! This is the most thoughtful thing any hotel employee has ever done for us. She provided a real "WOW" experience that I will never forget. Thank you, Deja, for the delicious chips and exceptional service. You are still making me smile!
Been a long day of driving, all I wanted to do is watch the World Cup in my $300/ night basic cookie-cutter Marriott chain hotel room. It’s on Fox, which is widely known to be a major tv network. We’re not talking premium cable TV or pay per view. Much to my dismay, this hotel can’t or won’t pay for the station. I called the front desk, and the woman who answered was entirely dismissive of my lament, stating that I can watch it at the bar. I explained that I wanted nothing more than to watch in the comfort of my room, to which she dialed up her disregard, restating that the game is on at the bar.
So much for empathetic service and basic hotel amenities like basic TV stations.
