Newly renovated hotel. Looks older on the outside but inside was newly renovated. Comfortable beds and bedding, towels etc. Friendly staff. Great breakfast. Only complaint was pool is small (10 feet x 25 feet) and busy. Pool is not heated. Both times we went there were no pool towels but once we left the front desk know they replenished them.
I had a wonderful experience at this hotel. I was having difficulty finding a place to stay, and the staff went above and beyond to help me. They were incredibly kind, welcoming, and professional throughout my stay. The hotel was clean, comfortable, and very relaxing. I truly appreciated the excellent customer service and the support they provided when I needed it most. And the parking is free! I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a pleasant and stress-free stay.
TL/DR: The rooms, location, and individual staff were good/great, but actual customer service/policies were poor.
I booked a night mid-trip when unexpected flight changes left me in Ottawa/the National Capitol Region unexpectedly. Unfortunately after booking the room at 7pm additional issues led to my arrival just after 3am in the morning. While I was treated kindly and assisted by Sergio when arriving he informed me that my reservation was marked as a "no show" and my room couldn't be provided. In trying to be supportive he said he could provide a room with a reservation for the next day and the day staff could cancel/refund it (which he left notes for). When I cleaned up and went to checkout before noon (11:50ish) the day staff refused to refund the next day's room even though I wasn't staying any further, and they insisted I needed to go through a 3rd party to get the original reservation refunded even though that was the night I stayed.
I'm extremely disappointed in the overall operation as I was charged 2 nights for less than 9 hours even in the proximity of the hotel, let alone in a room. Despite submitting a request for reimbursement on the same day of checking out I never received a response (more than a week ago), and all of this was caused by unnecessary administrative actions that the hotel staff should've been able to solve on site. The original reservation made no note about a "no show," timeframe or a requirement to communicate travel delays, and even with the room being cancelled it shouldn't have required an additional reservation to provide a key for a room/night that had already been paid for.
Ignoring the catastrophe above the hotel was good and I felt the staff were professional and kind. They either lacked the technical training to handle this situation or had been instructed/trained not to support the customer. I wouldn't recommend staying here if there is any chance your travel may put you into boundary conditions for arrival/departure as I feel you're at risk of additional costs, but outside of that risk the hotel was very nice and is a good recommendation.
I booked a hotel room March 11 for May 16. When I arrived they told me there was no booking although I have a confirmation email. There also were no rooms available due to it being a long weekend , they were full. They told me I had to deal with the booking reservation desk . After several hours (5pm-9:30pm) sitting in the lobby , several phone calls back and forth between the booking reservation desk, and the hotel desk reception the hotel finally realized that the hotel changed names from the Ramada to the Hilton (after my original March 11 booking date ) so my original booking was booked on April 16 in error and I was considered a “NO SHOW” ! I had spent the day at the spa relaxing, which was completely ruined as we spent almost 5 hours sitting in the hotel lobby as I was not able to leave as I was three hours away from home. Finally, the hotel manager gave us a “ complementary room “ at 9:30 PM at night. He told me to get a refund from the booking reservation desk. I have spent the last month dealing with this only to be denied my refund as they feel because we were given a room at 9:30 PM at night … I can’t believe they even feel this is acceptable. After booking months in advance In hopes to have a wonderful weekend only to be treated like this is disgusting. Our relaxing spa day was ruined, we didn’t even get to go for dinner and enjoy the entertainment at the casino as planned . We were exhausted from spending almost 5 hours dealing with this. By the time we got to our room at 9:30 PM at night we were beat. I have spent several nights over the years at this hotel (previously Ramada) and never had this kind of horrible service. I feel hotel (now The Hilton ) needs to make this right. Giving a hotel room complementary at 9:30 PM is not “making it right “
I also left several messages at the hotel once I arrived home for the manager to call me and never got a response!
Hotel was impeccably clean, took a moment to get our baggage cart, but otherwise staff was very friendly and attentive. I usually wouldn’t give a hotel in this collection five stars, but I felt like the value to price to value ratio was exceptional. They also had a room which accommodate six people which is very hard to find.
