Boise, Idaho
The Avery
A 39-room boutique hotel inside a 1910 downtown Boise building that hadn't operated as a hotel since 1971.
Open · September 2023
The Avery opened in September 2023 in downtown Boise, a 39-room independent hotel inside the 1910 Tiner building, vacant as a hotel since 1971 and later known as the Blues Bouquet music venue. Chef Cal Elliott and developer Michael Hormachea led the restoration, which kept original guest-room doors and an existing Brunswick bar intact.

The place
1010 W Main Street in downtown Boise, inside the 1910 Tiner building — originally the Manitou Hotel, later the Northwest's largest moving-picture theater and, from the late 1970s to the early 2000s, the Blues Bouquet music venue.
The concept
An adaptive reuse of the 1910 Tiner building, revitalized by Michelin-recognized chef Cal Elliott — returning to his native Boise — and developer Michael Hormachea, after the upper floors sat vacant as hotel rooms since 1971. The restoration keeps original guest-room doors and an existing Brunswick bar, giving downtown Boise a small independent hotel built into one of its oldest surviving buildings rather than a new construction.
Dining & wellness
Avery, a French-inspired fine-dining restaurant; Tiner's Alley, a walk-in-only English gastropub; two on-site bars.
