It is in the middle of downtown Boise, within walking distance of the city's core.
The concept An independent hotel with no international flag, in a city where boutique supply at this level was thin. The hotel says it is one of only two in Boise with AAA Four Diamond status, and that US News & World Report's 2026 Best Hotels list gave it a Gold badge and the top spot in the city.
Guest rooms have copper soaking tubs. The look is rustic and contemporary, a tone the hotel ties to Boise's own history.
Dining & wellness Baraboo Supper Club follows the Wisconsin model: prime rib, relish trays, cocktails and ice cream drinks with alcohol. Blue Collar Coffee Co. serves espresso drinks made with Wisconsin-roasted beans on the ground floor.
On the roof, The Highlander is a bar and lounge with fire pits and views over downtown. The lobby has its own bar as well.
Our take A 122-room hotel that leans on three food and drink venues and a roof more than on a brand name. The rooftop level also works as a ballroom for weddings and corporate events, with mountain and skyline views, and the hotel has further meeting space for groups of different sizes.

The entry is classy with the doorman opening up the door and greeting us. The elevator ride up was a nice mix of families and couples heading to their rooms and the rooftop bar out of a movie.
The pergola and the views of downtown and the mountains is breathtaking. Clientele reminded me of Boise state college students, Boise botox and couples on dates with cowgirl chic attire.
Service was fast paced with a slight Vegas vibe and attitude. The hot sun glaring in the severs dressed in black must have been intense and the cool mist was providing a coolness reminiscent of Scottsdale.
My only critique was the n/a drink menu. Much of the selection was extremely sweet and was hoping for a more savory option or something with Athletic beer or a mocktail you can find in a can at Whole Foods. “Just a suggestion”
The bar nuts were extremely greasy and I felt I had to wipe my hands multiple times with napkins. I also wished there were drink menus for spirits on the rocks.
Overall, a good experience. All of these suggestions are minor and I’m happy this hotel bar provides the amazing atmosphere that it does. I updated my review!
This wasn’t just a hotel…Hotel Renegade was home away from home for me and my hubby. It’s smelled so good when we walked in at around midnight and the ambiance was so warm and inviting. The front desk people were so friendly and welcoming. Our room was immaculately clean and decorated. The shower…the bed…the tv…the flooring…the artwork…ALL THE THINGS was just the absolute best. The ladies cleaned the room every day and they did an EXCELLENT job EVERY TIME! If Idaho wasn’t so far away I would visit Hotel Renegade every summer! 5 stars ⭐️
My husband and I had the pleasure of staying at Hotel Renegade for our wedding weekend, and when I say we were blown away by our experience, we truly mean it. The hotel staff were so kind and caring throughout the whole experience. The hotel room was so beautiful and clean. The small details around the room se the bar for hospitality high. We also had many friends and family staying there for the wedding weekend and everyone was blown away. Thank you specifically to Bailey at the front desk, for everything she did on her end to make the stay extra special. We will absolutely be returning for another staycation, and will be recommending to all our friends and family.
3 day business trip, stay was fine. Had a few issues, shower head needed to be switched out, and I asked for a full size ironing board. The room provided a very small ironing board with 5” wobbly legs. Not sure where to use it (the floor?) Maintenance was responsive and helpful. The room I stayed in was a single king. No closet, no drawers. The wooden wardrobe that was pretty useless. A small clothes rack in the safe compartment. I could hang pants with the few hangers provided, but that’s it. Bathroom had a small vanity, fine for one man. The desk in the room was fine to work on with a laptop, but the chair was too low and the casters didn’t roll on the carpet. The hotel is beautiful, but it’s more form over function for a business traveller. Maybe I’m not the target demographic. The roof top bar is very nice, good drinks, nice views. The duck fat fries were great. Sliders were good but a bit smoke heavy. The blue collar coffee shop has great muffins and coffee. Hotel staff was friendly. I attended an event one night on the 8th floor. The food was good and the 2 bartenders were great. The Heated outdoor patio was comfortable. Overall great vibe, friendly people, but it fell short on some hotel basics in my opinion.
Stayed at this location for our first time in February. Best explanation that I can provide is WOW!
From the time we arrived (Valet) through the check out (front desk) we were treated like royalty. Amazing service by a staff that are truly ambassadors for the brand and create an incredible atmosphere.
The hotel is very clean and very inviting from the lobby to the rooms. Our room layout was wonderful and the room was loaded with amenities. It was quiet and easy to navigate. Location is central to downtown so it's really easy to walk to the nightlife after dinner.
Rooftop was amazing and what a view. We also made reservations at the Supper Club and it too was incredible. Service was impeccable while not being overbearing. The food was amazing and very fairly priced. Cannot wait to go back and eat more off the menu.
Overall, I cannot believe there is a better hotel to stay at in Boise. Do yourself a favor and enjoy a "staycation" at the Renegade.
