The place
The hotel is carved into Sulphur Mountain above Banff National Park, with direct access to more than 2,500 square miles of protected wilderness.
The concept
Owned by Oxford Properties Group and a capital partner, the long-standing Rimrock closed in October 2025 for a redesign led by Venice, California studio Studio Collective, reopening as the first North American hotel under Accor's Emblems Collection — a soft brand built around independently characterful, destination-specific luxury properties rather than a standardized template.
Dining & wellness
The hotel's dining spans Parker's Table for Canadian-terroir fine dining, the casual Rimrock Social, the cocktail-focused Listening Room and the all-day Market café, alongside a bathhouse with saunas, ice baths and a mountainside infinity pool.

August 5, 2026 — Rimrock Banff has reopened as Rimrock Banff, Emblems Collection following its $115 million property-wide renovation; local press reports the reopening took place in July 2026, roughly on schedule with the previously announced summer 2026 target.
