The place
The hotel sits at the intersection of University Drive and Mill Avenue in downtown Tempe, the corner where Arizona State University's campus meets the Mill Avenue District. It's a new-build addition to what was previously an underdeveloped block, built as part of a joint development push by ASU and the City of Tempe.
The concept
Omni Tempe Hotel at ASU opened April 28, 2023 as a $125 million public-private partnership between Omni Hotels & Resorts, Arizona State University and the City of Tempe. The 330-room property (including 11 suites) was built to give downtown Tempe the conference-scale, full-service hotel it lacked, with nearly 36,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting space, including what the hotel describes as Tempe's largest ballroom. The design draws on Sonoran Desert textures paired with ASU's campus aesthetic.
Dining & wellness
The hotel operates four dining and drinking outlets: Neighborhood Services (restaurant), Library Rules (lobby bar and coffee counter), Salt & Gila (pool bar), and Lucero Rooftop Bar.
