Omni Fort Lauderdale opened in December 2025, with a ribbon cutting on December 18, and it is the group's first hotel in the city. Omni calls it its third Florida flagship. The tower has 801 rooms and stands 29 stories above the Intracoastal Waterway. The hotel exists because of the convention center. Broward County expanded the center and Omni's hotel was designed as its anchor, with meeting rooms and terraces that connect directly. A grand opening release followed on April 16, 2026, with general manager Gayla Guyse named in it.

The place

On the Intracoastal Waterway in Fort Lauderdale, attached to the Broward County Convention Center District. The group places it close to the Port Everglades cruise terminal and to Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, and a few minutes from the beaches.

The address is built for people with business at the convention center and for cruise passengers who need a night on either side of a sailing. It is not a beach hotel.

The concept

The tower is 29 stories tall. Nunzio Marc DeSantis Architects designed it, Stantec is the architect of record, Balfour Beatty was the design-builder and EoA Group handled the interiors. Of the 801 rooms, 82 are suites. The two Presidential Suites on the 27th and 28th floors each exceed 3,000 square feet, with two bedrooms, large private balconies and panoramic views.

Meetings explain the size. The hotel has more than 120,000 square feet of event space across several levels, including the Port Everglades Ballroom, breakout rooms and outdoor terraces connected to the convention center. Mokara Spa occupies more than 8,500 square feet on level 10, with treatment rooms, a hammam, a steam room and a relaxation lounge. The pool deck sits next to the fitness center and, according to Omni, has views of the city and the ocean.

The project was delivered with Broward County, Visit Lauderdale and the developer Matthews Southwest. The opening announcement projects more than $450 million in local economic impact and over 3,000 full and part-time jobs.

Dining & wellness

Six venues are listed: Fair Ketch, Reef 76 Kitchen & Bar, Ibis Sky Lounge, Hidden Key, Tide Coastal Kitchen and Leeward Market. Executive chef Cristian Mosquera leads the food program. A seventh outlet, an Italian chophouse, was scheduled for 2026 and Omni had not named it in the coverage available at the time of writing.
