The concept
Mammoth Lakes has one of the highest and snowiest ski mountains in California and, until now, almost no branded hotel to go with it: the town's beds are overwhelmingly condominiums. Limelight Mammoth, approved by the town council in July 2022 and opened in December 2025, is the first Limelight in California and the fifth for Aspen One after Aspen, Snowmass, Ketchum and Denver. It combines 149 rooms and suites with 15 privately sold residences and a members' club, the Mammoth Lakes Mountain Club. The format is the one the brand has run since Ketchum: informal, family- and dog-friendly, with breakfast included and the lobby treated as the social centre of the building rather than a corridor.
Dining & wellness
The Limelight Lounge is the hotel's single venue and changes register through the day, from breakfast and coffee in the morning to an apres-ski room with craft cocktails, wood-fired pizza and live music. A buffet breakfast is included in the rate. Facilities run to a heated outdoor pool and hot tub, firepits, a fitness centre stocked with Therabody recovery equipment and more than 8,000 square feet of event space; there is no spa.
