Cabot Revelstoke Mountain Lodge is scheduled to open in early 2027 at the base of Mount Mackenzie, steps from the Revelstoke Mountain Resort gondola and overlooking the first tee of the resort's new Rod Whitman-designed golf course. The 155-room lodge is Cabot's first mountain resort and its British Columbia debut, pairing heli-skiing and North America's greatest continuous vertical drop with 18 holes along the Columbia River. It brings a spa, a 400-guest event venue and the Chop Steakhouse & Bar to a town whose accommodation has until now grown one small property at a time.

The place

The lodge is being built at the base of Mount Mackenzie, on the southern edge of Revelstoke in the Columbia River valley between the Monashee and Selkirk ranges. It sits steps from the Revelstoke Mountain Resort gondola and overlooks the first tee of the resort's new golf course, which puts winter and summer access on the same doorstep — a rare configuration in the Canadian interior, where ski bases and golf courses usually sit an hour apart. Revelstoke's historic downtown, with its heritage brick blocks and restaurants, is a short drive north.

The concept

Cabot built its reputation on remote links golf — Cabot Cape Breton in Nova Scotia, then developments in Saint Lucia, Scotland and Florida — and Revelstoke is its first mountain resort and its debut in British Columbia. The 155-room lodge is the hub of the wider development: a year-round base pairing Revelstoke Mountain Resort's skiing and heli-skiing, which offers the greatest continuous vertical drop of any ski area in North America, with an 18-hole public championship course laid out along the Columbia River by Rod Whitman of Whitman, Axland & Cutten. The course is scheduled for limited preview play in autumn 2026, ahead of the lodge, so the golf will be playable before there is anywhere on site to sleep. Inside, the programme covers a spa and wellness suite with hot tubs and sauna, a fully equipped fitness centre, a European-inspired event venue seating up to 400 for weddings and corporate gatherings, curated retail, and a dedicated check-in desk for golf and heli-skiing. A short course and social hub called The Rail Yard sits alongside. The resort also includes private alpine-style residences, reported as close to sold out, with Chalet 1 offering nine four- and five-bedroom homes from CAD 7.6 million — those residences were designed by Hart Howerton, though no architect has been named for the lodge itself. Revelstoke has grown its accommodation gradually around its ski hill and downtown; a 155-key luxury lodge is a step change rather than an increment.

Dining & wellness

The lodge's anchor is Chop Steakhouse & Bar, a modern steakhouse announced for winter 2027. Wellness runs through a spa with hot tubs and sauna alongside a fitness centre, and the event venue accommodates up to 400 guests. No further dining outlets have been named at this stage.
