Basecamp Suites Revelstoke

Basecamp Suites Revelstoke opened in June 2024 at 112 2nd Street East, a ground-up build in the heart of downtown Revelstoke and the Canmore-based group's second address in the town. Its 31 apartment-style suites span ten room types, from micro-studios to six-bedroom units sleeping up to sixteen, each with a full kitchen, dining area and laundry. The format targets groups staying a week for the skiing, cat-skiing or summer riding rather than overnight travellers.

The place

The property occupies 112 2nd Street East, inside Revelstoke's compact downtown grid, so the shops, restaurants and bars of the town core are a walk away rather than a shuttle ride. That is a deliberate contrast with the accommodation clustered at the base of Mount Mackenzie, roughly ten minutes south: guests trade ski-in convenience for being able to eat and drink somewhere different every night in a town that has more good restaurants than its size suggests.

The concept

Basecamp Resorts, the Canmore-based operator that has grown across the Alberta and British Columbia mountain towns, broke ground on this downtown site and opened it to guests in June 2024. It is the group's second address in Revelstoke, alongside its earlier base-area property, and it is a ground-up build rather than a conversion. The format is apartment-style rather than hotel-style, and the range is unusually wide for 31 keys: ten room types running from micro-studios up to six-bedroom suites, sleeping anywhere from two to sixteen guests. Every unit has a full kitchen with a stovetop and cookware, a separate dining area, a washer and dryer and premium linen — the specification of a place designed for a group renting for a week of skiing, cat-skiing or summer mountain biking, not for an overnight stop. The larger suites in particular fill a gap in Revelstoke, where groups have historically had to choose between a whole-house rental and several separate hotel rooms.

Dining & wellness

There is no restaurant or bar on site, and no spa. The proposition is the kitchen in every suite and a downtown location that puts Revelstoke's own restaurants within walking distance.
