The place
The hotel rises at 22 Kenny Street in Wollongong's CBD, close to the transport hub, the beach and Port Kembla, an hour south of Sydney.
The concept
Avani's first new-build property in New South Wales anchors a mixed-use development led by Illawarra-based Blaq Property Group, pairing the hotel with residential apartments above. Rooms run from 24 to 41 square metres, pitched at travellers mixing business meetings with beach time in a city better known for its escarpment and surf breaks than for hotel openings.
