The place
Located at 921 Myers St in Scott's Addition, on the former site of a Hardee's just off Arthur Ashe Boulevard, the hotel sits in one of Richmond's fastest-growing neighborhoods — a former industrial district now dense with breweries, restaurants, and new apartments, a short drive from downtown and the Diamond District.
The concept
The AC Hotel occupies 133 of the 253 rooms in a new 12-story tower developed by Shamin Hotels, sharing the building with a separately branded 120-suite Residence Inn — Marriott's extended-stay brand, run independently and outside this guide's scope. The 1.3-acre site previously held a Hardee's restaurant; nothing hotel-related stood here before. Designed by architect Nitin Kulkarni for a stated $100-million-plus budget, the building includes a 10,000-square-foot ballroom, a second-floor terrace overlooking Arthur Ashe Boulevard, and rooftop event space, positioning the property as much for Richmond's meetings and events market as for leisure and business travelers drawn to Scott's Addition's bar and restaurant scene.
Dining & wellness
The building includes a ground-floor restaurant and a rooftop venue, Celestial Rooftop Bar and Lounge, shared across both Marriott brands; specific dining concepts and operators have not yet been announced.
