AC Hotel Pasadena

AC Hotel Pasadena opened in early April 2025 at Colorado Boulevard and Madison Avenue in Playhouse Village. It has 194 rooms, more than 10,500 square feet of meeting space and a rooftop bar and restaurant that was planned for the summer. The official celebration was held on 16 April 2025.

The place

The hotel stands at the corner of Colorado Boulevard and Madison Avenue in Playhouse Village, on the route of the Rose Parade. Marriott's listing gives the address as 19 South Madison Avenue; a contractor's completion notice uses 550 East Colorado Boulevard, the same corner building. The Pasadena Playhouse, the neighborhood's namesake theater, is nearby, and Old Pasadena is a short walk west.

Visit Pasadena names Lake Station as the Metro A Line stop for the Playhouse District, and the Playhouse itself describes the walk from Memorial Park Station as about 15 minutes. The A Line reaches Union Station in downtown Los Angeles in roughly 23 minutes from Memorial Park.

The concept

The hotel opened in early April 2025, with an official celebration on 16 April. It is a new build with 194 rooms. The design is described as contemporary with a European influence, using a neutral palette and floor-to-ceiling windows. The lobby holds a small library, and the hotel shows work by local artists. The owner, architect and interior designer were not named in the coverage found.

Event space is a strength: the hotel lists more than 10,500 square feet of flexible meeting and event space, including an executive boardroom, with capacities from 16 to 265 guests. Some rooms have 12-foot ceilings and views of the San Gabriel Mountains. A penthouse suite can be used as a guest room or as a private event space, and the rooftop is available for events.

A Rose Bowl and Rose Parade location matters for planning. The hotel sits on the parade route, so the days around 1 January are the highest-demand period of the year.

Dining & wellness

AC Lounge serves cocktails and shareable plates with a streetside patio, and AC Kitchen covers pastries, breakfast plates and espresso. AC Cafe uses coffee from the locally owned Jones Coffee Roasters.

A rooftop restaurant and bar was announced for early summer 2025, serving regionally sourced dishes, cocktails and wine with views of the city and the mountains. Whether it has opened as described should be checked directly with the hotel.
