El concepto Hualta se presenta como la primera "urban winery" hotelera de América: un hotel de 70 habitaciones que integra una bodega en funcionamiento dentro del propio edificio, permitiendo a los huéspedes recorrer el proceso de vinificación sin salir del centro de la ciudad, en lugar de trasladarse a Luján de Cuyo o al Valle de Uco. La decoración privilegia materiales locales —roble, acero y piedra—, con una bodega subterránea pensada como representación del terroir mendocino y un rooftop con vistas a la cordillera de los Andes.
Gastronomía y bienestar El hotel dispone de salones de eventos, un rooftop con bar y vistas panorámicas, y una oferta gastronómica y de cata ligada a la bodega urbana que funciona en el subsuelo del edificio.
Nuestra opinión El concepto de "urban winery" es, ante todo, una apuesta de marketing: ninguna bodega de un hotel en pleno centro va a competir en escala o prestigio con Zuccardi, Catena o las etiquetas del Valle de Uco a 80 km de distancia. Pero como propuesta híbrida entre el turista de negocios que no tiene tiempo de salir de la ciudad y el enoturista de fin de semana, Hualta ocupa un nicho que, hasta su apertura en septiembre de 2023, no tenía un competidor directo de marca internacional en el microcentro mendocino.

There needs to be soundproofing done to this hotel. If someone is in the room next to you, you will hear absolutely every single thing about their stay. If you have a room overlooking the bar, get ready to listen to Led Zeppelin’s entire collection from start to finish. The doors need the ability to not slam shut so you then hear that. The staff is lovely, the wine dispenser is even lovelier but for the love of GOD invest in soundproofing.
We were mainly going to Mendoza for the Wine Country, but thought we'd stay two night in the city proper -- and glad we did.
Hualta is a unique property in that it's the first urban winery hotel on the entire continent. It's hidden amongst the larger Sheraton and Hilton Hotel (which are bigger in size and amenities), but you get access to all of them, so it makes this boutique hotel seem that much bigger.
The rooms have a great aesthetic, but the bathrooms look like they were from a clinic or something (all white with stainless steel sinks). My room was made up every day and the beds are beyond comfortable!
When I first got to the hotel, my room smelled like cigarette smoke (which is odd because they said it's a non-smoking room). They were extremely apologetic and was able to move me pretty quickly to another room. HUGE shoutout to Celeste who made it happen and was a welcomed face during my stay.
The restaurant was touted as being one of the best in the area, but the service was slow and one of our dishes was completely inedible (we couldn't cut through it because it was so overcooked). There are plenty of other restaurants around the area, so there are other options.
The location is central to all of the shops, a pharmacy, and only about 10 minutes to Plaza Independencia (where we saw vendors, street performers and families out enjoying the Summer). We walked back through there after dinner around midnight one night and it still felt VERY safe (I included a picture of the street at midnight).
Because of the location, the cleanliness of the hotel and the staff, I would HIGHLY recommend this gem.
Don't come to this hotel if you're planning on having a relaxing stay.
The rooms are not soundproof and music plays outside well into the night. Patrons are drunk and screaming outside as well.
EDIT: We had to raise a chargeback for the incidentals charge with our credit card. Beware of this.
The bathroom also has a smell of sewerage back-up.
The front desk team are not helpful and seemed frazzled during our check-in, did not explain any amenities.
This is a party hotel, plain and simple.
Absolutely loved my 3-nights stay at this hotel. Most of the staff were just an absolute delight. Modern and homey decor in the room makes unwinding after a long day out in the Andes & wineries so much easier.
Really disappointed with this hotel. From the moment we entered we did not feel welcome. The reception staff greets you with attitude. They also did a horrible job explaining the amenities, they did not explain to us about the inclusive wine nor the gym amenities. We only found out about them as we were checking out when we overheard them explaining to someone else. They also did not add my membership number to my reservation so now I will have to speak to corporate to have this added even though I specifically asked them to do so.
On top of all this they don’t even greet you as you enter or leave the property and when you say hello they look annoyed at you.
If I ever come back to Mendoza I would rather stay at the Marriot next door and I say this as Diamond Member ( which usually they give us some perk but none at all here).
I believe this hotel is a really bad image for Hilton and they need some new reception staff.
Edit: Something else that speaks about this hotels horrible service is after they reply saying they will add my reservation ( they did not)
Also they still haven’t cancelled the charge for incidentals. When I was checking out I gave them my room key and after waiting 10 minutes while they checked the room with no update. I asked a young lady if it was almost complete because I had called an uber. She rudely said if I didn’t have anything from the mini bar then I was good. I assume this young lady was supposed to release my incidental which she didn’t.
