In the evening, the neighborhood's trattorias and wine bars fill up along India and Kettner.

For a longer stay

With more time, the Gaslamp Quarter is an easy walk east, and the San Diego Bay waterfront path connects north toward the airport and south toward downtown's civic core.

CH Projects Little Italy Hotel & Wellness Center, with no confirmed opening date, is planned for the northeast corner of Kettner Boulevard and West Juniper Street, where the neighborhood's restaurant-and-gallery blocks give way to the approach corridor for San Diego International Airport. The San Diego County Regional Airport Authority initially denied the project in February 2024 over crash-risk exposure to guests, a decision the San Diego City Council voted to override that July.

Just south, on the waterfront

Le Méridien San Diego Pinnacle, targeting January 2027, is rising a few blocks south at 501 West A Street, a new-build tower steps from both the waterfront and Little Italy's southern edge.
