The place
The hotel is at 201 Glen Avenue, near Catherine Street and next to the University of Michigan hospital complex, on the medical-campus side of downtown. Central campus and the Main Street district are reachable on foot, though the walk is a real one rather than a few steps.
Detroit Metropolitan Airport is about 25 miles east.
Ann Arbor's football stadium, Michigan Stadium, is south of the central campus and seats over 100,000, which is why game weekends strain every hotel in the area. The hospital complex that surrounds the Glen Avenue site is one of the city's largest employers, and its visitors are a steady source of demand all year.
The concept
Robert Finvarb Companies and Milford Singer & Company developed the hotel. DLR Group did the interior design and Neumann/Smith Architecture was the architect. Marriott's Autograph Collection, a group of independently styled hotels, supplied the brand.
The room count is 188, including 24 suites. Sources differ on whether the suites have one bedroom or two, so the number is stated and the layout left open. Meeting space runs to roughly 11,000 to 12,000 square feet in five rooms, depending on the source. The hotel was designed with business and hospital visitors in mind as well as university guests.
The opening date is less clear than usual. A press release announced a grand opening on 6 May 2025, but trade coverage from April 2025 already described the hotel as open and taking reservations, and later pieces from June and August 2025 refer to the official opening after that. The listing here says spring 2025 for that reason.
Dining & wellness
La Serre is the main restaurant, a French-inspired brasserie serving breakfast, lunch and dinner seven days a week. It has an extensive wine list and two private dining rooms.

The hotel has 188 rooms, including 24 suites, about 11,000 square feet of meeting space in five rooms, and a French-inspired brasserie, La Serre.
