The Stockman, Auberge Collection

The Stockman, Auberge Collection is planned as Steamboat Springs' first ultra-luxury ski-in/ski-out resort, developed by the Ricketts family's Marquee Development with Majestic Realty and Alterra Mountain Company. The roughly $550 million project pairs 59 hotel rooms and suites with 95 private residences at the base of Steamboat Resort, targeting a 2026 groundbreaking and a 2030 opening.

The place

1965 Ski Time Square Drive, at the base of Steamboat Resort, between the Torian Plum Condominiums and T-Bar at Steamboat — a site that has sat vacant for years.

The concept

The Stockman is a nine-storey, ski-in/ski-out project at the base of Steamboat Resort, developed by Stockman Development LLC — led by Marquee Development, the real-estate arm of the Ricketts family office that controls the Chicago Cubs — alongside Fort Worth's Majestic Realty Co. and Alterra Mountain Company, which owns Steamboat Resort and the underlying land. It marks Auberge Resorts Collection's debut in Steamboat Springs, combining 59 hotel rooms and suites with 95 privately sold residences, including 13 rooftop 'Barn' residences with double-height ceilings. Sales launched with more than $90 million placed under contract in the first 60 days. Groundbreaking is targeted for 2026 on the roughly $550 million project, with an opening planned for 2030.

Dining & wellness

Plans call for three dining venues — a signature restaurant, an après-ski bar with a ski-up outdoor deck, and the Living Room craft-cocktail bar — alongside a Wellbeing by Auberge spa built around a thermal bathing circuit and a pool.
