The place
151 South Main Street, in the centre of Ketchum, the town adjoining the City of Sun Valley at the foot of Bald Mountain. The address is in Ketchum rather than in Sun Valley itself, roughly a mile from the historic Sun Valley Lodge, with a free shuttle to the River Run base area of the ski mountain.
The concept
The five-storey hotel opened on 16 December 2016 with 99 rooms and 14 residences, and was described at the time as the first new hotel the Wood River Valley had seen in about two decades. It is owned by Aspen Skiing Company, now Aspen One, and was the brand's first Limelight outside Colorado; the same group has since opened Limelight Mammoth in California. The positioning is deliberately less formal than the valley's older lodges: dog-friendly floors, a children's area off the lobby and family-sized rooms, aimed at bringing a younger clientele into a destination with an ageing visitor base. The gamble was noticed quickly, Vogue naming Idaho one of its top destinations for 2017 within weeks of the opening.
Dining & wellness
The hotel runs a lounge and includes breakfast in its rates, with pools and hot tubs on site and a free skier shuttle every fifteen minutes to River Run. No separate spa or signature restaurant is documented in the sources consulted here.
