Hale Hōkūala Kaua'i, Curio Collection by Hilton, opens 23 September 2026 as the first Curio Collection resort in Hawaii, within the Hokuala Resort community near Lihue Airport. The 210-room resort, designed around open-air Hawaiian-bungalow-inspired architecture, gives guests access to the Ocean Course at Hōkūala, a Jack Nicklaus Signature golf course, and The Farm at Hōkūala.

Within the Hokuala Resort community near Lihue Airport, on a bluff overlooking Nāwiliwili Bay and Hāʻupu Mountain, on Kauai's East Side.

The concept

Hale Hōkūala Kaua'i is the first Curio Collection by Hilton property anywhere in Hawaii, set within the Hokuala Resort community. Its design draws on traditional Hawaiian-style bungalows, reimagined with open-air spaces and lanais, and a colour palette described by the developer as reflecting "tones of sand, greenery, sky, and water." Guests get access to the Ocean Course at Hōkūala, a Jack Nicklaus Signature golf course, along with The Farm at Hōkūala, which preserves traditional Hawaiian canoe plants. Jon Itoga, previously of the Waikiki Beach Marriott Resort & Spa, has been named opening general manager. The resort opens 23 September 2026, with reservations already open for stays from 1 October.

Dining & wellness

A signature Portuguese- and Hawaiian-inspired restaurant, an outdoor pool with a pool bar, a fitness centre, tennis and pickleball courts, and roughly 13,000 sq ft of event space.
