The concept Hilton Head is a barrier island built on villa rentals, golf communities and timeshare, and it has seen very little new hotel construction in decades, which is what makes this 115-room property notable despite its mainstream flag: it is one of the only genuinely ground-up hotels to open on the island in recent years. It is owned by Southeastern Real Estate Group and managed by LBA Hospitality of Dothan, Alabama, and opened on 24 March 2020, the week American travel stopped, which explains why it drew almost no trade coverage at the time.
Dining & wellness High Tide Rooftop Bar sits on the roof with a resort-style pool, a full bar and three cabanas, and is the only rooftop pool and bar at Coligny Beach. Other food and beverage outlets are not documented in the sources consulted here.
Our take A Courtyard is a Courtyard, and nobody should expect a design statement. What earns this one an entry is scarcity and position: new build, walking distance to the busiest beach access on the island, and a rooftop pool that no competitor at Coligny has. For a destination where the alternative is usually a rental villa a bike ride from the sand, that combination is worth knowing about.

The good from this stay was that the location is literally near everything you may need. However, I requested early check in for 2pm, I arrive early to receive my parking pass and go to the beach. I was told the room would be ready at 2:30pm. I returned back to the hotel at 4:05pm. Their were 3 people in front of me complaining about their rooms (water leak/smell). When it was my turn to check in it was now 4:40pm. I was told my room WAS NOT READY! Remind you that hotel check in begins at 4:00pm anyway. I was told to wait another 20 mins for it. I get the keys and it is not the room I booked with a balcony. Got back down to get room changed, next room was correct but not clean. A MAN DIRTY UNDERWEAR WERE IN THE CLOSET ON THE FLOOR AND THE ROOM STUNK AND WAS NOWHERE NEAR CLEAN OR FRESH.
We went to the pool at 7:15 next morning(it opens @7am/ CLOSES TOO EARLY 6:30PM). The pool guy was cleaning the pool out, but the surrounding area was not clean from the night before. Multiple towels were left scattered around. Trash bin was full, cushions were missed place, just a whole mess. Hotel needs to do better cleaning up. We arrived 9:30 next morning, literally same thing again.
7/21- the hotel posted notice the water would be unavailable in the building from 10am-4pm. We were unable to shower, flush, or wash hands. An alternative use for restrooms should have been provided for guest and hand sanitizers should have been available. NOTHING!
Front desk Maria was not as pleasant and didn't care about my concerns.
My stay at Courtyard by Marriott Hilton Head Island was absolutely fantastic.
The hotel has a modern and elegant atmosphere, with stylish rooms that are clean, comfortable, and very relaxing. One of the best parts of the experience was the location just a short walk from the beach, restaurants, and shops, making everything extremely convenient.
What really stood out to me was the rooftop area. The rooftop pool and bar create an amazing ambiance where you can relax, enjoy the view, and fully experience the Hilton Head vibe. The atmosphere feels sophisticated but still comfortable and welcoming.
The staff were friendly and professional, making the stay even more enjoyable from check-in to departure.
Overall, an excellent hotel experience modern, relaxing, and perfectly located for enjoying.
I recently stayed at Courtyard by Marriott Hilton Head and had a wonderful experience. The hotel was clean, modern, and well-maintained, with comfortable rooms and excellent amenities. The staff was friendly, professional, and always willing to help with recommendations and requests.
One of the highlights of the property is the rooftop pool and bar area. It provides a relaxing atmosphere to unwind after a day at the beach, and there are small but enjoyable views of the ocean from the rooftop. Enjoying a drink by the pool while taking in the scenery made the stay even more memorable.
The location is convenient, offering easy access to Hilton Head's beaches, restaurants, and local attractions. The rooms were comfortable and spacious, and the overall atmosphere of the hotel was welcoming and relaxing.

This is a great spot to stay. Rooms are modern and clean. Staff is friendly. Especially Ty. She is the BEST!
Better than all of that, the hotel is located is a great spot on the island. So many shops and restaurants within walking distance. There's even a Piggly Wiggly.
We will definitely return.
the hotel is in a great location, we walked everywhere we wanted to go,we never drove on our stay . there was shops, restaurants, breakfast places. the room was okay , we had a balcony room which that was a nice photo moment and view but the amount we paid the room and the bathroom could be nicer , definitely updated. there was no microwave which is inconvenient . the biggest thing was that no one came to clean our room….. we stayed for 3 nights and the lady upfront said every other day …. there was no clean room every other night.we had to ask for clean towels because no came obviously . so again the amount we paid doesn’t match up with the service they claim there is on the website and in person. also you have to pay for parking which is fine but theres no free breakfast either …which the website doesn’t even display that. the area was nice and quiet so good sleep. unfortunately i wouldn’t stay again at this hotel .
