The place

The six-storey hotel rises on the banks of the Taylor River in Blenheim's CBD, next to the former Clubs of Marlborough building and linked to it by a first-floor airbridge.

The concept

A new-build hotel forming the accommodation anchor of a wine-country entertainment precinct that also includes the Marlborough Wine and Food Experience, the ASB Theatre and the Marlborough Events Centre: Capstone Hotel Management's 20th New Zealand property, and its first ground-up build in the region.

We stayed 4 nights in May and hotel was perfect. Room was large and comfortable, great water pressure in the shower, and the staff were extremely helpful. We were able to walk to dinner and it was so close to all the beautiful wineries. On site restaurant and bar was convenient. Really enjoyed the food at Fancy Cow & Dolche, the gin tasting at Roots Gin, and Wairau & St. Clair Wineries. Onsite free parking was also a great benefit.

When I walked in to the Scenic Hotel Marlborough to check-in, I was greeted by name by the lovely Rohit. I had called the evening prior to request a change in room type - and he had remembered that call and identified that I was the last person due to check-in when I arrived around 5pm, so he took a well-educated guess. The rest of our stay lived up to our first impressions, our room was tidy, well equipped and modern. We were offered a private spa/sauna. My guest enjoyed both dinner and breakfast and enjoyed both. Thank you to the Scenic Hotel team, and particularly to Rohit for making our stay very relaxing.

We originally planned to stay 2 nights at The Scenic Hotel, but ended up spending another night there due to late cancellation of Interislander ferry. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The room was very comfortable and the hotel very conveniently located. Very good value for money. Fridge, safe and guest laundry and a very good spa. Thoroughly recommended. Plenty of parking spaces

Reception was really nice, informative and friendly. Facilities are very good, happy hours explained well. Room are really comfortable good amenities and well appointed. Carparking was a little tight so get in early.

We stayed in one of the dog-friendly rooms, and the staff surprised our furry boy with a delicious pupcake, which he absolutely loved! The room was spotless, and the location was perfect. We enjoyed a lovely walk along the nearby riverside. We highly recommend this wonderful hotel to anyone travelling to Blenheim with their furry family member.
