Yui HashimOto Prasetyono · 5/5 The hotel is clean and rooms are small but nice. The staff at reception were nice but wasn’t very organised. The staff at the bar and restaurant was absolutely horrendous. They were rude and ignored a lot of the customers including our group. The overall service at this hotel really need a lot more training and the culture improved. Maybe it’s small town Belgium but it’s not good.
I really would not recommend staying or eating/drinking at this hotel. What a shame!
Extremely loud ventilation and moisture problem in the rooms from the showers. The room was well cleaned, expect foe the bathroom ceiling filled with dead flies.
I ate the simpler breakfast and dinner, and neither was great. You also have to be extremely careful if you have a nut allergy here as spoons are shared between products with and without nuts.
We like the family bed room with 2 bunk beds and double bed, enough space for 4 people. The swimming pool is alo great, with warm water and clean. Breakfast is good with a lot of options. The location of the hotel is right next to the ticketing office of Grotte de Han. We parked near the church across the hotel but there is also a basement parking at hotel.
The rooms and all other aspects of the hotel stay was excellent. Especially appreciated the children's area. We had booked in advance for a table of 7 and received confirmation of how lovely it would be to host us. however, from the moment we showed up "everything was a problem until it wasn't". We were told immediately that because we we more than 6 people, we would have a restricted choice on the menu (anything more was too complicated for the kitchen and staff). There was no mention of this at the time of booking. When I queried this with the (young) manager, I was told this was standard in all good quality restaurants (I am a business professional in my sixties and have travelled the world without such problems (except in cheap establishments), your manager basically said I was mistaken. I was angry, but we stayed as to move to another restaurant would have made the experience of the family dinner even worse. Then when we started ordering, we were able to have what we wanted anyway - a waste of negative emotions in the end. We had one person who needed gluten-free and were told that this should have been ordered in advance, when on the website it merely said that gluten-free was available. The chef came out and we discussed, and then it wasn't a problem (again). The focus of the staff and manager was on their own convenience rather than ensuring their clients were happy - "everything was a problem until it wasn't". The food was quite good, but short of excellent.
