We stayed at TRIBE Baden-Baden for one night and it worked well as a pit stop for visiting the thermal spa town of Baden-Baden. It’s part of the Accor group and has a very modern, funky style.
The overall vibe feels like they’re aiming for cosy luxury, with dark blue tones and dim lighting throughout. It looks stylish, although at times it did feel a little oppressive — especially in the corridors.
The room itself was small but cleverly designed, with useful luggage storage tucked under the bed that helped make the space feel less cramped.
One small frustration for me: it’s yet another hotel where the plug socket, mirror and shelf all seem to be in the wrong places in relation to each other, which makes getting ready after a shower more awkward than it needs to be. A small detail.in room design that always makes such a difference to usability.
Breakfast was good, with a decent spread, and their own white wine was actually the best we’d had on the trip.
There is a fitness centre for guests. Some heavier weights to cater to more people and work outs would be good but we improvised.
Loved the touch of the shoe shine machine (located just near the car park entrance).
There’s limited parking on site and it’s best to book this in advance. It costs €25 per night. When you arrive, pull up outside the hotel while you check in to get your parking pass, although this can feel a bit chaotic as check-in takes a while and there are only two spaces outside. There are public car parks next door too, although we didn’t use them.
A nice bonus was the generous 12pm check-out.
We’d stay again, but probably only for shorter trips.
I come to Baden-Baden 3-4 times per year and have tried 3 other hotels so far, all great. I never tried TRIBE, though, so I decided to stay here this time. The location is convenient as Baden-Baden is not huge and you’ll quickly get to the center from here. There’s a parking onsite (better to book it in advance, but the public parking garage nearby, Vicentigarage, is also very good and I’ve parked there several times before with no issues).
The hotel is modern and clean, and my room was comfortable.
There’s even a little (very basic) gym, which I used during my stay.
However, I must say that, for me, the right hotel is part of the experience when coming to Baden-Baden. When you arrive, you don’t really understand where’s the reception as there’s usually no one there and you confuse it with the bar.
Also, all the seating place you see when you arrive is where you’ll take your breakfast, and it can get quite chaotic and loud. The buffet is ok, but not fancy like in other places (no fresh orange juice, just 1 yogurt choice, very little fruit available, very mediocre scrambled eggs, etc…) and it feels like an Ibis.
The room is also ok, but, again, not fancy. Almost no storage room (and I booked the best room category available, I think), no option for a bathtub, no balcony. And no cleaning if you stay for 2 nights as it was the case.
The decoration is also a bit dark, not what you usually find in other hotels here, which tend to be brighter, more colourful and “happy”.
But the price at TRIBE is also not the same as in other places. It’s considerably cheaper and I guess you get what you pay for.
Not a bad hotel at all, and if you’re on a budget, it’s actually well located, comfortable, clean and modern.
If you want to pamper yourself a bit and experience Baden-Baden in a fancier way, maybe look elsewhere.
The worst hotel experience I have had in a long time. I think we were unlucky, but I would still be cautious about this hotel. We experienced unbearable heat in Room 517 despite relatively cool external temperatures. The air conditioning system did not provide any effective cooling and then with the window locked to only open very slightly, we could not ventilate the room. Our stay was extremely uncomfortable and this was unnecessary. Other rooms were available, but only to those who signed up to the loyalty programme and marketing e-mails. It is clear from the range of views expressed in other reviews that some rooms have effective cooling, and some do not. Allocating us a room without effective cooling or ventilation in July is very hard to justify. I would not return or stay in any other Tribe hotel.
