We stayed at LUX* Grand Baie for 5 nights in a two-bedroom residence with a private pool on a half-board package.
The residence itself was excellent—very spacious, comfortable, and beautifully designed with a modern yet cozy feel. It was perfect for a family stay, and the private pool added a nice touch of privacy and relaxation. The beach is sandy and pleasant, while the rooftop lounge has a great atmosphere and serves one of the better shishas we’ve had at a resort.
That said, there were a few drawbacks. Our residence overlooked the street rather than the resort or the ocean, so the view wasn’t particularly appealing. The half-board package was also somewhat restrictive, with dining limited to one main restaurant and the rooftop tapas venue. Compared to the beaches in the south of Mauritius, especially around Le Morne, the water here wasn’t as crystal clear. We also found Grand Baie’s weather to be noticeably cooler during our stay than the warmer, sunnier conditions in the southwest.
Overall, LUX* Grand Baie is a stylish, luxurious resort with fantastic accommodation and a great ambiance. If you value modern design, comfort, and being close to Grand Baie’s vibrant atmosphere, it’s an excellent choice. However, if your priority is the clearest turquoise water and consistently warmer weather, the south of Mauritius may have the edge.
Piece of paradise!!!
Lux Grand Baie has certainly exceeded our expectations on our recent family trip!
From the super refreshing welcome cocktail, to the thorough guide to our rooms and facilities the hotel is the pinnacle of modern, understated sustainability.
The spa....AMAZING!
The food options....just enough to keep you full for the entire holiday, especially if you have the pleasure of meeting Chef Lorraine at breakfast!!! Those savoury pancakes....TOP!
The grounds are not massive but somehow it never feels like a typical hotel chain...everyone manages to get their own little hidden corner and truly relax!
Thank you to Alexander who was super helpful and caring throughout our stay!!! Obrigado!
Small touches like the treasure hunt for hidden bottles ( lovely treats to be uncovered) and fruit or ice cream on the beach during the day made holiday that much more enjoyable!
Thank you all very much and hope to see you again soon!
We had an absolutely wonderful stay at LUX* Grand Baie. From the moment we arrived until our departure, every aspect of our experience exceeded our expectations.
A special thank you to Nelly, Kishan, whose professionalism, kindness, and attention to detail made our stay truly memorable. He went above and beyond to ensure that my family and I were comfortable and well taken care of throughout our vacation.
I would also like to sincerely thank Sudha, Palavi, and Biraj for their outstanding care and dedication. Their friendliness, professionalism, and commitment to excellence were evident every day. They maintained everything to the highest standards and were always helpful, welcoming, and accommodating.
What impressed us most was the genuine warmth and hospitality shown by the entire team. They consistently made us feel valued and cared for, creating an atmosphere that was both luxurious and personal.
LUX* Grand Baie delivered a truly exceptional experience for my family. The resort, service, facilities, and attention to detail were all world-class.
We highly recommend LUX* Grand Baie and look forward to returning again in the future.
Thank you once again to Nelly, Kishan and the entire team for making our stay so special and unforgettable.
LUX* Grand Baie is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful resorts in Mauritius. The beach is stunning, the resort itself is breathtaking, the rooms are spacious and beautifully designed, and the activities are fantastic.
I would like to give a very special thank you to Vedish from the restaurant team. He was by far the most outstanding member of the staff during our stay. His kindness, warm welcome, professionalism, and genuine care made a huge difference to our experience.
He truly deserves recognition.
Unfortunately, there were a few issues that affected our stay. Some members of the staff were not as friendly or attentive as we expected.
Our room also had two recurring problems. The first was ants inside the wardrobe. We reported it several times, and while the issue was temporarily addressed, the ants kept coming back.
The second issue was an unpleasant sewage smell whenever we entered the room. We informed the staff more than once, but unfortunately the problem was never fully resolved. The smell wasn't present all day, but it occurred repeatedly throughout our stay and was quite unpleasant.
Despite these issues, the resort itself is absolutely beautiful, and with more attention to room maintenance and consistency in service, it could offer a truly exceptional experience.
From the food and beverages to the service and accommodations, everything was exceptional. Lauren, the Head Chef, ensured that every meal was outstanding, and her passion and dedication were evident in every dining experience. The amenities were beautiful, and the spa and gym facilities were particularly impressive. The staff went above and beyond to make our stay memorable, always being pleasant, attentive, and professional. We are already planning our next stay. To add, we extended our stay by six extra nights.
