Don't expect a 4 star hotel, I think this is a 3.
The beach, pool, and outer hotel was beautiful. I like the drinks and poolside service. The staff friendly and helpful. Service was mostly good. The food was meh. Some of the restaurants were good - I liked the Italian and the food at the Grill. I really wished there was more guacamole available. It felt like it was under lock and key and it was all I wanted lol. I also felt like I was always short on water, I wished it was easier to get water bottles, and the fridge restock in the rooms was very minimal. We had to go off site a few times to make change for tipping and also to stock up on water, snacks and to replenish our sunscreen. It would have been nice if those things were available at the resort. The room service in the evening was inedible in my opinion. We didn't bother trying it for another time of day. The room was nice and clean, but we had plumbing issues and the toilet clogged a few times. I spoke to a woman in the elevator who said she didnt have a hot shower all week, despite changing rooms. So it seems like plumbing is a bit of an issue. Also BRING EARPLUGS. It's noisy at night since there is music playing in the lobby and essentially no sound barrier. Overall, I had a nice stay and loved the outdoor areas and most of the staff. Just be prepared for those things I mentioned and bring extra sunscreen ! Personally, I'm not sure I would come back unless it was a smoking deal.
From the moment we arrived we felt we had made the best decision in choosing Fiesta Americana Riviera Nayarit. The grounds are beautiful & lush. The pools are stunning with the infinity pool overlooking the ocean, absolutely gorgeous. All 3 pools are large and provide shallower areas for the youngest seasoned travelers (lol). The room was very large and comfortable. The walk in hot tub on the patio was a big bonus as someone who does have some mobility issues. It was very appreciated that I could walk in easily with a bar for safety. Again, with some mobility concerns, I was ecstatic to see they provided garden chairs around the pool & not just loungers. Sometimes they are not the easiest to get up out of. It made my relaxation even more enjoyable. The pools were warm, crystal clear and clean. The ocean front was meticulous and very clean. Gerardo was always smiling and very eager to provide us drinks around the pool. He was very sweet & kind & chatty. He even sought us out while we were waiting for our shuttle to pick us up, to say goodbye. Ernesto was a joy to see every morning at the buffet. His smile made our morning. Such a sweetheart, brought us a little sweet treat with a chocolate message “happy travels”, on our last morning. To be honest, all of the staff we encountered were very sweet, always happy. The food was fantastic. Our last dinner on our final night was at the Mediterranean restaurant & the dinner was scrumptious. Mario at the front desk was so accommodating & very helpful. Go Bills, Mario 🤣. It is an older complex but the staff, the amenities, the beach made us feel like we were in a diamond hotel. It actually created a more enjoyable, comfortable & relaxing atmosphere. We will definitely be returning next year. Cannot wait to see you again.
If you’re looking for a low-key resort with good value, this is a great choice. The staff were attentive without being over the top or constantly looking for tips. Ezekiel and Allan from the activities team were awesome — I played ping pong and volleyball with them every day.
There are heated and regular pool options, plenty of loungers, and we never had to stress about getting a chair. The condo building on the property has quite a few seniors, which adds to the relaxed vibe. The daily 11 a.m. volleyball game was a highlight — there were always enough people to make it fun.
Food and restaurant options were consistently good, and the evening activities (karaoke, dancing, fire show) were enjoyable, simple, and low-key. Definitely no club or party vibe here.
The beach is excellent: fine sand and gentle surf that’s perfect for playing around on a boogie board. We had an issue with the shower running cold, but it was fixed within 10 minutes — much appreciated since my wife is pregnant.
Rooms are very spacious with a comfortable sofa, big balcony, and a huge patio door that opens wide. The gym was adequate, and I was told all new equipment is arriving next week. I was more than satisfied with the barbell, benches, Hoist machines, and Smith machine.
The resort could use a pool table, but overall the place was very clean, well maintained, and clearly cared for.
We were very satisfied. It was exactly what we were looking for — a relaxing baby-moon before our little one arrives.
We had the pleasure of staying at the Fiesta Americana Riviera Nayarit for 12 days. It was a wonderful vacation with impeccable service by the staff. We have been to multiple resorts in Mexico and the Caribbean and I have to say that the food here is probably the best that we have had. The buffet while not extensive was always fresh and great quality. The Sushi restaurant was absolutely fantastic and I wish I could have some of the lettuce wraps right now! Both the steakhouse and the Italian restaurant were also excellent.
We had an ocean facing room and we quite enjoyed sitting out in the morning with our coffee and listening to the music that was being played around the pool. It was always tasteful and easy to listen to.
The 3 pools were very clean and each one seemed warmer than the next which was lovely. The beach was also great! It was pure sand walking out and there was no need for water shoes.
I felt very bad for this resort as well as others in PV when unfortunately the media reported on the “Cartel discontentment” in a very dramatic fashion. We always felt extremely safe and very well taken care of.
If you’re looking for a relaxing vacation with excellent food and amenities I would highly recommend The Fiesta Americana Riviera Nayarit.
My wife and I are here for a ten day stay, we are five days in and have concerns for the next five. The hotel is great, low key just the way we like it, friendly and amazing staff, spacious room, great pools, and good beach access. The issue here is with the food services. Have been to four of the ala carte restaurants and the buffet for breakfast and lunch and have been disappointed with every meal. It seems impossible to get a hot meal anywhere on the property. I've waited for fresh food delivered to the buffet from the kitchen only to find it tepid at best. The ala carte restaurants will bring you a plate that is hot but the food on the plate will be tepid. There is also the issue of not getting what is on the menu. As an example, if you order a beet, olive and arugula salad it should come with arugula and olives, not beets and cheese. Fritto misto with shrimp, fish and baby squid should come with those three items. Consistency of ingredients should be key when the menu tells you what to expect. Tell me of menu changes or deficiencies at the time of ordering so I can adjust or confirm my order. To quote Ms. Geyer, who responds to reviews of the hotel, "food and beverage...is an essential part of an all inclusive stay". I feel this way as well but unfortunately I have not seen these words reflected in our experience to date. One shouldn't have to consider eating off property when staying at an all inclusive hotel. Five more days to change my mind or confirm my decision to look at alternative hotels for my next visit. It would be a shame since we both like this hotel very much.
UPDATE
We accepted the opportunity to speak with the service manager regarding our review and had a pleasant exchange with Bertha; thanks for listening to us and treating us with respect. She assured us she would speak to the executive chef to try and rectify the issues moving forward. It's not that the food was awful, quite the contrary, it was delicious, well seasoned and beautifully presented. I know change does not happen quickly but we encountered the same problems for the remainder of our stay. It's a tough decision not to return when everything else was very much to our liking. Muchos gracias to all the wonderful staff.
