Von hier sind Hauptplatz, Kunsthaus und die wichtigsten Sehenswürdigkeiten der Stadt fußläufig erreichbar. Der Hauptbahnhof liegt rund vier Kilometer entfernt, der Flughafen Graz etwa eine halbe Autostunde.
Das Konzept Das NH Graz City ist ein Neubau, der 2018 als siebtes Haus der NH Hotel Group in Österreich und zugleich als erstes Haus der Kette in der Steiermark eröffnet wurde. Mit 157 Zimmern in modern-urbanem Design richtet sich das Vier-Sterne-Haus klar an Geschäftsreisende unter der Woche und an Städtetouristen am Wochenende. Anders als die beiden anderen, unabhängigen Grazer Kandidaten in diesem Guide ist das NH Graz City ein reines Markenprodukt: ein Standardhaus, dessen Positionierung sich unmittelbar mit anderen internationalen Business- und Lifestyle-Ketten vergleichen lässt, die bereits im Guide vertreten sind.
Gastronomie & Wellness Ein großzügiges Frühstücksbuffet mit frischen Säften, Gebäck, Käse und Aufschnitt gehört zum Standardangebot der Marke. Die Lobby-Bar ist am Nachmittag und Abend geöffnet, ein eigenes Abendrestaurant fehlt: für Mittag- und Abendessen wird auf die zahlreichen Lokale der angrenzenden Altstadt verwiesen. Ein kompaktes, kostenfreies Fitnessstudio steht den Gästen ganztägig zur Verfügung, dazu Tagungsräume für Firmenveranstaltungen.
Unsere Einschätzung Das NH Graz City ist solide, aber austauschbar: Die Lage am Rand der historischen Altstadt ist ausgezeichnet, das Produkt dahinter jedoch reines Kettenstandardprogramm ohne lokale Handschrift, wer im selben Guide bereits das Aiola Living oder ein vergleichbares unabhängiges Haus kennt, wird den Unterschied sofort spüren. Für Geschäftsreisende mit Tagungsbedarf und für Gäste, die primär Lage und Verlässlichkeit suchen, ist es dennoch eine gute Wahl, ohne fehlendes Abendrestaurant überzubewerten, die Auswahl in der umliegenden Altstadt ist groß genug, dass das kaum ins Gewicht fällt.

Overall, our stay at this hotel was wonderful. The property is beautiful, and from the moment we arrived we were warmly welcomed. Every member of the staff we encountered was courteous, professional, and genuinely helpful—until we had the unfortunate experience of dealing with Luca, the receptionist on duty that evening.
His attitude was disappointing and completely out of place in an otherwise excellent hotel. He showed little interest in assisting us when we needed directions to the car park late at night and was unwilling to help with even the simplest request. When we asked if he could help us find a cigarette lighter or even a box of matches, his response was simply that he did not smoke and therefore had nothing to offer, without making any effort to suggest an alternative or assist in any way.
What made the experience particularly disappointing was not the refusal itself, but the dismissive and indifferent manner in which we were treated. The contrast between his attitude and the outstanding service provided by the rest of the hotel staff was remarkable. In fact, anticipating that he would refuse to help, I recorded our interaction, which accurately reflects the lack of professionalism we experienced.
This hotel deserves its excellent reputation, and it is unfortunate that one employee was able to overshadow what would otherwise have been a perfect stay. I sincerely hope the management addresses this issue promptly, as Luca’s attitude does not reflect the high standards of hospitality demonstrated by the rest of the team.
Thank you to everyone else who made our stay enjoyable. It truly is a beautiful hotel, and with better customer service from every member of the front desk team, it would be exceptional.
A short but wonderful stay. The hotel is very well maintained, and even the smallest room without a sea view was spacious enough for the three of us, with a lovely view of the city park. There was plenty of space, a large bathroom with an excellent shower, and the room felt comfortable and inviting despite not being a premium option.
The beds were very comfortable, the hotel was spotless, and the location in the heart of the Old Town is excellent. The value for money is outstanding. We chose not to have breakfast as we found it a little pricey, but the room itself was very affordable and exceeded our expectations.
We came here for a conference at the university, and it was so convenient located; it was a very nice stroll through the park to get to the university conference sessions. The service is great, everyone is very friendly. The hotel is convenient located to everything in old town Gratz - you can get anywhere by walking. The only reason we didn’t give it a 5-star rating is because the AC could not keep the room as cool as we’re used to in the US, but it was comfortable.
We had a wonderful stay at NH Hotel for 3 nights and honestly everything exceeded our expectations.
The hotel is very clean, modern and comfortable, and the location is perfect: very close to the city center and also near a beautiful park, which made it ideal for us as a family with a baby. We loved being able to take relaxing walks in the park while still being just minutes away from the main attractions.
The breakfast was amazing, with a lot of fresh and delicious options every morning.
What truly made our stay special was the staff. Everyone was incredibly kind, welcoming and always ready to help. A special thank you goes to Chef Zeno, who was absolutely amazing with us and our baby. Our daughter only eats fresh homemade food and not processed baby food, and he was more than happy to help us by boiling fresh vegetables so we could prepare her meals. His kindness, patience and willingness to help meant so much to us and made us feel truly cared for during our stay.
We are very grateful for such a beautiful experience and would definitely come back again. Highly recommended, especially for families traveling with babies! 🤍
Excellent stay at NH Graz. I arrived around 11pm and the receptionist was exceptionally friendly and helpful, which made the check-in very welcoming. The room was modern, spotless and very well maintained, and the bed was extremely comfortable. I slept very well.
The bathroom was excellent with high-quality amenities and modern facilities. The breakfast buffet the next morning was fantastic with plenty of choice. I also spent some time working in the lobby before a meeting and found it very comfortable, with staff again very helpful.
I travel regularly for business and stay in many very good hotels, so my benchmark is quite high, and this was genuinely an outstanding stay. Highly recommended!
